Terrible case of writer's bloc today. Trying to write the self evaluation. A niece on the way. In general just trying to get work done. One more week of classes and then a long vacation.
The Self Evaluation has gone terribly. I have worked on it for weeks. I don't know why I am so terrible at this kind of writing but I am. How do I sum up a year of work and not seem pompous. I'm trying to be matter of fact, which of course, turns out boring.
Maybe a good night of sleep will help.
I'm in the process of writing the year-in-review packet for my Dean. The purpose of the packet is the highlight - illustrate - why I should be kept on for another year. Its hard to remember everything, even with documents, and I should write about events as they happen.
For instance, this year I gave a seminar on how to build a webpage (you can find my professional page at www.professorgennari.com) which was so popular I was brought back for a second engagement. But writing about it now is far less dramatic and more matter-of-fact.
Picked up a Cross Affinity Rollberball this weekend. I needed a new pen to use with some everyday writing and college grading. Its very smooth, writes like silk feels against your skin on a cool night.
