There was a moment - certainly brief - where ISIS was a violent jihadi movement (there's lots of heads in this video - be careful) but still wanted some kind of outside legitimacy. Enough to allow in a journalist to tell its tale. Is it propaganda - ISIS intends it to be - but it remains the only look inside the inner workings of the group.
